Stayed in the Bayleaf for a couple nights and ate a couple meals in this restaurant. Views of Manila are terrific which enhanced the dining experience. Food was tasty and well prepared. Service was also excellent, very friendly and attentive staff. It was a little pricey but if your looking for bargain prices you probably will want to avoid restaurants in upscale hotels.

Denisse Cruz22:26 05/02/23
Excellent food and service at reasonable price. The place has a view of manila while enjoying the dining experience. There are lots of Filipino food to choose from. The restaurant also has a good ambiance, perfect for family gathering or meetings. Try their kare kare, sinigang and sisig.

Christiana Mesina04:07 03/11/23
Though the food are flavorful there’s only few selection. Ambience is good and it also has a great view of Intramuros Golf course.

Jared Paguia09:32 02/18/23
Situated at one of the higher levels of the Bayleaf Hotel, this restaurant has a nice view towering over Manila. The restaurant itself seemed quite old looking and quite rundown and dirty. The food on the other hand, while quite pricey, was excellent in both its presentation and its taste. The portion sizing was also very big to the point where we couldn't finish half of what we ordered. I can definitely recommend this place if you want to try great food in Manila.

D Choi06:18 02/16/23
very good view and service, food was not the greatest in Manila that i had so far, but good quality.i’d rather recommend this resto for chill time

Mary Ann Wong18:32 02/13/23
Lunch buffet here is very good! Taste is superb! Not much variety in buffet but good enough to be full since everything is excellent! Servers were very attentive which gives me a feel of a 5 star hotel.👌 Ambiance is also very good since you got a view of manila ❤️The bagnet is crunchy and very delicious! They have basement parking👍

Illustrado is located in the historic old quarter of Intramuros Manila. We sat outside under a tented area. We ordered the Kambing (goat) kaldereta, kare kare, paella illustrado, and rellenong bangus (stuffed milkfish). Unfortunately none of the dishes had much flavor to them. My 3 stars indicates they were ok, not bad, nothing special or memorable. The paella was especially disappointing since it seems to be the signature dish. The amount of seafood was lacking, no clams/mussels or squid, less than a handful of bay scallops, and 2 prawns. Take the disappointment from the paella and just apply to the other dishes. Expectations were higher but not unrealistic. Not worth it and would not recommend.

Mr. Naoki05:19 06/28/23
Probably the best restaurant in Intramuros and definitely a contender for top restaurants in Manila. Absolutely delicious Filipino and Spanish food, everything we had was good, paella, eggplant, and fried chicken dishes were stand-outs for me. Drinks were good as well, definitely recommend the mango daiquiri, they have a very wide range of cocktails which is always good. Service was great and atmosphere has a very old Manila vibe (seeing as it is in Intramuros) which was wonderful. For the taste and quality of the food, everything was fairly priced, I would 100% recommend this restaurant if you are around the area. They also have their own parking lot next to the restaurant which is great as Intramuros can be a hard place to find parking.Overall, this restaurant is amazing and definitely lives up to and deserves all of its many rewards. Would definitely recommend you try it if you can!

Domonic D14:37 06/19/23
One of the best meal you could get in ManilaWe order a Gumbas Al Ajillo, Morcon Plaridel and coffees for drink. The morcon is made in beef tenderloin and it was perfect. The beef wasn't over cooked and make a perfect match with their sauceThe Gumbas (prawn) is fresh and didn't have any fishy taste. The sauce is a little bit sour and make a great match with the prawn

It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Perfect for family gatherings, for couples and other events. Great food, dessert and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

An incredibly delicious restaurant with attentive and professional service! Good food and great ambiance with the trio playing tasteful music throughout dinner and even taking song requests.Would definitely recommend this place if you happen to be in the area with an empty stomach!

The atmosphere and service was excellent. Quiet space inside the walls with great deco in the cafe. The food was good. Not the very best Spanish but have no complaints.

Larissa11:30 11/27/22
Booked and ordered in advance, yet we were served last during our appointment. Serving is Just good for 1 so if you’re a big Group Like US, prepare to wait Even with advanced orders. Nothing spectacular on the food.

Norsa'adah14:44 09/12/22
Entrance a bit bottled neck. Need to take stairs to first level. A bit dark. There are old pantings at the wall. The tables are nicely decorated. Buffet styles. Spanish theme dinner. The appetiser is a bit bitter. Spaghetti, seafood, chicken, curry lamb are nice. The fruits and dessert are also nice. Asked ice cubes twice before served.

Charlotte Noquiao (wllkrstnchrltt)06:21 06/21/22
A bit pricey but the food is still good. We were served with an undercooked paella the last time. I love the sampaguita ice cream 🍨Booking a table is recommended, and there is free parking inside their premises.

JJae H.05:08 06/21/22
Went to have a quick lunch, tired from exploring the walled city, but boy we ended up staying for more than an hour, lol.The ambiance was very nice, and the food were really good as expected. Staffs were also courteous and attentive. Would definitely go back again.

The ambiance is quite unique as this was a place where bishops use to relax and unwind. The food is average nothing special.

Kat Cruz12:42 04/30/23
This is by far one of the best restaurants in the Old Manila. It’s incredibly affordable considering how delicious the dishes are. Classic pinoy food that will fill your tummy and your heart with great joy! I cant possibly count the times I’ve eaten here but it always NEVER DISAPPOINTS. My favorites: Baked Mussels (this is always present in all my visits here) & Sinigang sa Miso!

Ed, III Bersabe10:57 03/28/23
We had an amazing time in this restaurant. Food were all great, so delicious specially the Paella Negra.. 🤤 The paella is so worth it! It had generous amounts of seafood. It even had my favorite seafood, scallops and the mussels were so plump too.. The shrimps were not overcooked and the squid rings were cooked to perfection. The servings of paella were quite generous too for its price. It’s really a must try! 😉 We also ordered their crispy pata.. I could honestly say that it’s one of the best if not the best crispy I ever had. It’s crispy and juicy at the same time. Very flavorful too. It was really really good. 😋 The calamares was also good. It wasn’t rubbery at all. Cooked just right. There’s really nothing bad I could say about this restaurant. You should really try the food in this resto. I bet you won’t regret it. 😉

Delicious Food, Affordable Price and the food is too much of serving. The staff is very hospitable . Very auntie/uncle vibe.

Exactly in the front of St. Augustine’s Church, in the heart of Intramuros, this historical restaurant provides delicious Filipino food.Everything they serve it’s tasty and also nice to try. The cakes and dessert are absolutely amazing. The location is easy to access, also for disabled people. The staff is friendly. The price is okay, not really expensive. One of the best choice if you’re in Intramuros!P.S. Try the chicken adobo! Amazing!!

Mark Chester Goking09:23 10/09/22
Can't complain since my friend treated us to dinner here. But I sm pretty sure it is pricey, so brace yourself 😅The interior really has that feel of old times. Food was good. 👌

Location: Ristorante delle Mitre IntramurosRatings:Food taste and quality: 4Value for money: 3Packaging: 4 (as much as I don't like plastic, it's ok coz their container is reusable)Ambience: 5Customer service: 5Overall: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐Review:My favorite go to resto in Intramuros. I love their pastas, which was my order before. But this time we tried their Filipino food.We ordered Crispy Tawilis which was superb and now my favorite. I loved the properly seasoned taste of it, especially when dipped in their special vinegar. We also ordered Fried Tofu Kare Kare, which was nothing special for me, but it was still delicious. Good for vegetarians. However, the portion of the food is not worth the price. The staff were friendly and accommodating.I just wish that they will change their menu. It's quite overwhelming and confusing. It took me about 15 minutes to browse, read everything and order.

Anna Krzak03:00 03/20/22
Nice interior. Quite climatic place. We dropped by just for coffee (it was still morning). Double espresso was truly fantastic: strong and smooth. It tasted even better complimented with mango crepe with vanilla ice cream (158 Php). The menu is extended and looks good so we will definitely come back for lunch or dinner.

Benedict Isles11:05 12/31/21
Owned and operated by CBCP (Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines), this restaurant serves as one of their fund-raising activities with proceeds partly going to their programs for the poor and marginalized. The street can be pretty chaotic in the weekends, but it’s easily accessible and you can park by the streets. It has a nice Spanish facade. The interiors are like a normal canteen, but with relics and mementos of Catholic bishops so it looks like a mini museum cafe. I loved everything we ordered. And they pretty much have everything in their menu booklet (yes, pages and pages of food options).

Had a nice rum and coke there while listening to live music, was nice. Altough the staff seemed quite bored as they were all flipping water bottles all the time we sat there (hello 2013). Would be better with new plastic chairs and tables as they were old and dirty

Stumbled upon this restaurant by accident. First impression is amazing, rustic, full of history. Well maintained.Staff was ultra friendly, explaining every meal, very accommodating.Prices are okay, a bit shame that they are not somehow displayed.

They have a huge food selection to choose from.I met the owner, and she was so nice and friendly that she even gave a brief story of their place. The transformation into a restaurant is simply amazing.nice place, delicious food, huge serving, nice service 👍

Rustic rich with history and an amazing experience to dine. Thou most of it is a choose and cook among the line as a budget meal and choose your own viands yet it's worth to go there and enjoy. You would imagine it has some hidden grandeur among the other historical sites around just waiting for you to discover and enjoy. Sometimes you would see the owner who would tell you the rich history of 1919 and thier generations that have lived thru everything.

Affordable food inside the walled city. They have the ambience and historical location but they serve gritty Filipino food. Their food menu is like the bus stop restaurants. They have laing, pritong tilapia, menudo, chicken curry, letchon paksiw, and the likes.

A bit pricey and the place is a bit hot but the food was great. So many dishes to chooe from! Will return to try other dishes. Hoping it will become airconditioned or a bit cooler in the future.

A place full of charm. Barbara's Café is a great place to dine. Good food, excellent service, and relaxing ambiance. Batala Bar is also another great place. I love the combination of nostalgic/modern vibes. Their Bomba Longga is divine!!! The Salted Caramel milkshake is also a must-try. I also love that Batala Bar observes CLAYGO. So if you're the type of customer who just leaves your table to be cleaned up, this place is not for you.

Really great place for a meal especially if you are visiting Manila for the first time. The views are spectacular especially if you time your visit when the sun is setting. Prices are definitely higher than many places nearby but its a hotel restaurant so keep that in mind. Excellent service from a friendly staff.

Robin Whitehead01:58 05/04/23
Sky Deck View Bar is a gorgeous restaurant situated on the rooftop of The Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros. You have a good choice between Filipino, Asian and Western cuisine for food options, and a good choice of drinks. We had Chili Calamari for our starter, pinakbet and spicy beef & chorizo caldereta for our mains. The food was delicious, and well-priced considering the location of the restaurant! The view that you get over the city is gorgeous, and there is a great live band, which starts at 6 p.m! We suggest booking in advance, especially if you want the 7–10 p.m. seating. More seats are available for the 4–7 p.m. seating.Sky View Deck Bar is perfect for date night, but even if this is not what you’re planning for, this rooftop bar is definitely somewhere you should check out!

Kenneth Chua15:11 03/05/23
Overall, the place is 5 stars!! My plus one and I enjoyed the place. Just a bummer that when we arrived at 5pm, there were no seats available for the sunset and Manila view via roof deck side. It's as expected since time in starts at 4pm and ends at 7pm (first batch). They also have live performers that were very good! Very chill and romantic place to dine. I would recommend this place 100%We ordered Spicy Calamari, Kare-Kare, and Nachos with Salsa, plus 2 iced teas. The calamari was good, definitely a must try. Kare-Kare was superb, a must order (make sure to have bagoong), andd for the Nachos, they were a lot, plain, but a lot. Salsa was fresh (or at least i think so) refill of the Salsa would cost additional.Price wise, a bit average - above average, a bit expensive. Considering the ambience and place, I think it pulls up the value side of the expense. If there would be a chance, I will go back here and try other menu items, plus chilling out.Place - 5/5 easyFood - 4.5/5Ambience - 5/5 (this would vary if it rains probably)

Bryan Omaging07:56 02/20/23
Great Place, Great Ambiance. Foods are great. I recommend their pizzas so 😋. However, so many people are eating so you need reservation a week before your schedule. All in all worth it for the wait. Great view in the evening. Waiters are great.

Raleigh B. Singson08:57 02/14/23
Highlight of this place is the view actually. Completely breathtaking; you'll be able to view the famous Manila sunset at its best, while munching on delicious food. For the dessert, pudding made the best impression for me. Great place for taking your foreign guests, as well as loved ones.

John Perry “Jaypee” Kong06:54 02/13/23
Sky deck in the heart of intramuros. the 360 degree view of the city from the top of the building were simply stunning. The deck is very spacious and well designed but better if they setup more tables in the edges. For their food, I had a high hopes especially in their buffet, maybe my expectation is too high for a class buffet like this. I would recommend to try here and experience the sky deck view in night.

Mae Aquino04:48 12/17/22
Alfresco restaurant with a view of Manila skyline. Too bad the golf course was not lit so it was really dark at the surrounding area. Food was a miss and hit. It was fine but not fantastic. Staff were busy but attentive. Overall our foreign guests enjoyed the experience.**was not able to take a photo of all the food we ordered.

Audrey Nocon02:50 06/12/22
If you are looking for a cozy romantic place, then this is the place, 360 view of Intramuros Manila and the Manila city center. Good place for barkada or family dining. Accessible to public transportation. Great food and variety of choices. expect more people on weekends. Parking space is available. This is a hotel you might consider their accommodation also.

John Leong08:28 02/23/22
Great cozy restaurant and very accommodating staffs. Spent our anniversary dinner here few days ago. We enjoyed the beautiful sunset and Manila's skyline. We tried their best-selling Sizzling Bulalo, but there's lots of fats. Next will come back for their other items in the menu.

Food was good but everything else was an amazing experience. Live band came to our table and sang for us. There were live shows of traditional Philippines and Spanish dances.

Barbara's is a nice place to dine - old Spanish heritage house, good local food that pampers the palate, a trio of musicians belting out popular English. Filipino & Spanish songs. Quite an appropriate place for lunch after soaking up the beauty & artistry of San Agustin Church located across Barbara's - a tourist "must visit".

jhoey162212:25 07/06/23
The place is old but at least it gave a different ambiance from the usual restaurant. The signature salad has perfect mix of fruits, greens and nuts. They have a buffet for lunch and dinner, which seems costly, but they served rare Filipino food such as 'Papaitan' and 'kuhol'.

Adrianna Wang14:39 07/04/23
We were searching where’s the best adobo in town and this restaurant popped up.The first impression of mine stepped into this restaurant was “it’s old but fancy✨”And it turned out there were some traditional Filipino dance performances going on while we’re dining. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.I don’t know if it’s because I’m not a local….their adobo actually tasted a bit salty in my opinion. But the queso quesadillas were good!! And the halo halo was yum!Definitely recommend.

Inside the historic walled city of Manila is a beautiful quaint restaurant that will make you travel back in time. Barbara’s Heritage Restaurant will let every visitors experience dining like an Illustrado during the Spanish era. The restaurant offers home-cooked, Spanish-inspired meals meticulously prepared for their guest’s satisfaction. The restaurant is actually a part of the grand houses in Barrio San Luis, also known as one of the four original villages of Intramuros. It is right across  San Agustin church and bounded by Calle Real, General Luna, Cabildo, and Urdaneta streets. The other two grand houses are the Los Hidalgos, c. 1650 and Cuyugan Mansion, c. 1890.My family and I visited Barbara’s Heritage Restaurant after attending my sister's graduation at PICC. It's quite convenient since it's just 10mins drive. The restaurant’s exterior and interior look like an old-fashioned Spanish home that gives a nostalgic atmosphere. If you love classic things, you’ll surely enjoy visiting here. The large dining area has a lot of stylish chandeliers, beautiful antique wooden furniture, fabulous wall mirrors, and old portraits. And to set a relaxing mood, they have musikeros inside that were so good and friendly too.As for the food, here's what we ordered:10/10 Paella de Mariscos - definitely a must try8/10 Sugpito Tiger Prawns Sinigang - too sour for me7/10 Beef Kare Kare - just a usual Kare Kare, what we dont like is the bagoong. Taste us unusual.10/10 Grilled Vegetables with Pesto - this is so yummy! you have to try it!9/10 Lemon Chicken PepperWe enjoyed the food, especially the flavorful Paella and veggies. The food served is well-cooked and presented in an appetizing manner. The servers are friendly, polite, and attentive. The serving time was more than 30 minutes, which is understandable since they cook the food as you order.

Located inside the casa manila the restaurant enjoys of premium location and history. Waiter are friendly and quite serviceful. Food was quite low.Paellla: was taken from buffet and not even warmedGarlic Shrimp: mostly vegetablesSeafood pasta: okBoneless Chicken and cheeses: okPlace attracts tour operators so avoir ordering similar food that is already served on buffet. If they improve their food place would be fantastic, since they offer nice location and live music.

After I completed a tour of Intramuros yesterday, I was searching for a restaurant that served local cuisine that I could sit down at. I asked in another store I visited, and was recommended to visit Barbara’s.When I arrived, I ordered from the a la carte menu, although most patrons enjoyed the buffet, which looked nice. The prawn appetiser was particularly delicious, perhaps a bit peppery for some who don’t like heat, but I really enjoyed it.I got talking to my server, Capt George, who was such a lovely man. He was very welcoming and attentive and a great representation of the restaurant in my opinion. He told me that he has worked at Barbara’s for 28 years and it is his final year before he retires.I wanted to write a review to say thank you for making my trip to Barbara’s memorable and I hope you enjoy your retirement completely as you have certainly earned it!

Amazing food! Everything was so flavorful. The arroz Cristina was very unique, the pumpkin soup had nice hints of ginger which set it apart from other pumpkin soups, and I loved how peppery the steak was. The banana sesame was perfect too- nice and crisp on the outside and perfectly sweet. Halo-halo was good as well but the shaved ice was hard to separate -- but you can just ask for the waiter's help if you get this problem too. Around 7pm, a trio was also playing crooner type music and that complemented the overall feel of the restaurant. Great place to visit in Intramuros.

We definitely love Barbara's!! ♥️We got them as our wedding venue last March 2022. Food was superb 100% delicious from food tasting to our wedding day. All our guests were happy and satisfied with the menu ☺️Thanks also to our AE MC for answering all our inquiries during the preparation. ⭐️

Dropped by for a quick dinner initially but due to its cozy ambiance, it turned into a very romantic dinner. Food tastes excellent, i highly recommend paella de mariscos. Staffs are very attentive to your needs. A must visit restaurant when you are in intramuros.

Go back in time once you enter this restaurant. Feel the rustic and homey atmosphere accompanied by good food and service. They have a buffet here on weekends and function rooms for all occasions. Its a good venue for weddings and celebrations for small groups. You can try the San Agustin Church or nearby areas for the car parking.

We ordered their pancit canton and special halo-halo. We also tried their spring chicken. This is ideal for groups and families. It would look pricey if you're going to dine alone or two. I also want to emphasize that the service was superb.

Isabelle Deli01:24 04/21/23
I order the best plate P449, full course with all the menu. the chicken is good & tasty. Don’t forget to taste the banana ketchup, but it doesn’t fit my taste 😄

been years since the last i had max’s so i was excited when we had it. sadly, it was no longwr how i remembered it. it’s nice that they now have those ‘meal’ choices and some add-ons but quality and taste wise is still good but no longer the best.fries is cold.fried chicken thankfully is nice and juicylumpiang shanghai doesn’t taste nice.pancit and tofu sisig is averageice scramble is good.

Bijaei Rodriguez10:49 12/07/22
We went on a very busy day but didn't have to wait long to be served. Waiters are very attentive and efficient. The chicken could be a little better though. The parts served to us are too skinny and dry.

Good food as always. Aircon needs to be adjusted as its very cold in some places

Max’s Restaurant’s beginnings started in 1945, after World War II. Maximo Gimenez, a Stanford –educated teacher, befriended the American occupation troops stationed at Quezon City. Because of this friendship, the soldiers regularly visited Maximo’s nearby home for a drink or two. Later on, the troops insisted that they pay for their drinks. This prompted Maximo to open a café where the troops could enjoy food and drinks. The café initially served chicken, steak and drinks. Maximo’s niece – Ruby, who managed the kitchen, created a special recipe for chicken that became an instant favorite for the GIs. Soon, the Filipino public heard about the delicious chicken – tender, juicy and crispy – and they came too! Max’s Restaurant was born.Over the years, Max’s Restaurant’s popularity grew and became known as “the house that fried chicken built”. It has expanded in Metro Manila, Southern and Northern Luzon, Cebu and California, USA.Looking towards the next millennium, Max’s Restaurant has established itself as a household name, an institution, and a proud Filipino tradition. The second and third generations of the family continue to zealously uphold the standards and traditions set by Maximo and ruby for all Max’s Restaurants.

The food and ambiance on this restaurant so great that it gave me super powers, the power of invinsibility! I was dining with a foreign friend and the host asks him if he wanted a table for one even when I was standing right next to him, then when he ordered wine, the waiter asks if it's just a single glass! Amazing! And they barely looked and talked to me, that's perfect for introvert diners like me! Pizza, pasta and humus was so good. 11/10 will go back to see if super powers works again.

Eddy Kuo10:44 04/10/23
Excellent atmosphere and great service. I ordered a Raffaele ragout and a mango shake. Portion sizes were generous, and generally matching the higher than average price. Mango shake was delicious, although the ragout was quite oily and there were bits stuck to the bottom of the plate. Severe food coma followed. However, given the excellent decor, atmosphere, service and view, it is impossible not to rate this Raffaeles 5 stars.

Luwian Marticio03:19 04/06/23
Food was great m. Pricey but didn’t taste cheap. Nice view as well.

Sarah R15:04 03/22/23
We chose to dine here after the rooftop restaurant was booked full, and it was for the better! I'm visiting family in Intramuros and staying in the Bayleaf so Raffaele was the perfect option. They had an extensive menu - we ordered a wood fired pizza, the fruit and nut salad, brown butter chicken, tomahawk pork chops, and two pasta dishes. Everything was AMAZING! The staff was super attentive as well. Our waiter Bow made us feel like we were dining in a five star restaurant! I will definitely be back the next time I visit.

pizza is nice, and pasta, but not very fond of their steak. they serve mojitos also. ambience and service is good too. great place for a date.

Ed Manigo13:12 09/04/22
Dined here at around 7pm on a Saturday to celebrate a special event. There were a handful of customers when we arrive but the place started to get crowded at around 830pm.Food we ordered and our review (based on our taste buds):* Raffaele Gamberetti - 5 of 5* Roasted Pineapple & Farmer's Ham Pizza - 4 of 5* Fruits, Nuts, & Seeds -  5 of 5* Seafood & roasted tomato pasta - 5 of 5* Mahi mahi, blue crab & sea urchin - 5 of 5* Tiramisu Zabaglione - 4 of 5Place: The resto has a good view and has a good ambiance. Lighting inside is soft and it adds to the character of the place.Value for money: 4 of 5. A bit pricey but surely worth the qualityOverall: 5. Highly recommended and it will definitely be one of my favorite place to visit during special events

Elaine Eustaquio10:28 05/27/22
Ah-may-zing! Me and my son went here to taste their Woodfire Pizza. We also ordered pasta ragout and tomahawk porkchops. Too bad we did not have enough room to taste more of their dishes and dessert. Food pricing is commensurate with the dishes. Will definitely be back!
