They didn't ask about any specific areas I wanted to focus on or if I had any health concerns. During the massage, they used excessive pressure despite my requests for a lighter touch, causing discomfort rather than relaxation.Moreover, the therapist's technique was inconsistent and unprofessional. There were awkward pauses, and it felt like they were just going through the motions without any understanding of proper massage techniques. At times, they even applied pressure to the wrong areas, which made me feel uneasy. I keep telling JOY here name repeatedly on my feet that I’m not comfortable of what she’s doing. Like she massage my feet in the right but not on the left like how? 😩I ignored that because just want to finish the session. Even on the head massage my god! Literally went last Friday 7/28 to make an appointment for a Thai massage. I asked the front desk person if they usually provide pajama when they do Thai massage and she said yes (asked this as this is what I was accustomed to with Thai massages). Came back for that appointment and everyone started asking if I’m flexible, if I had a Thai massage before, and if I know what a Thai massage entails. I said yes to all of their questions, but the masseuse seems doubtful and went to converse with the front desk person, in which they asked me the same questions mentioned above AGAIN. Then, I noticed that most of the employees at the back started looking towards me and seems like they’re talking among themselves about me. FYI I’m the only client at the front desk as they try to figure out who will provide the Thai massage for me. They finally brought me to the back, and the same masseuse asked me to remove my clothes. When I initially made the appointment, they stated they will provide pajamas for the Thai massage, but NOW they said they do not provide pajamas. At this point, I am already frustrated with the lack of empathy, professionalism, and miscommunication by this establishment. We still haven’t started, but the masseuse mentioned, again for the third time, asked about me needing to be flexible to do this massage or if not, she warned me that she might end up injuring me. I understand that she needs to tell me this as a precautions or part of their policy, but I already answered these questions many times and well aware of how Thai massage works. Mind you, I am on a chubbier side so it felt like they have been judging me from the beginning that I’m not flexible and think that I’m too chubby for this kind of service. I told them that since they’re judging me and think that I'm not flexible and can’t withstand this kind of massage, I will just leave as it seems like it’s an issue that I wanted a Thai massage. Went to the front desk and told them I am leaving and told them that they should never judge people just because of how big people are. I personally know what my body can do and what I truly needed and can pay for a Thai massage elsewhere. Went to another massage spot close by with better reviews, but not in SM, and had a thai massage without being questioned what my body can do. For the record, I went to Oren Thai Touch Massage and Spa nearby and receive high quality Thai Massage and couldn't be happier with their service. I would avoid this place in the future.
