This popular breakfast and brunch spot lives up to the hype - just ask the dozens of diners already at tables 20 minutes after opening on a Sunday. My eggs over crab benedict were simply delicious, with perfect texture and swell fried green tomatoes perking it up. The kids had fluffy, addictive pancakes (griddle cakes), one with so many chocolate chips I thought it was a birthday. There are plenty other southern-style regional twists to choose from, as well as variations on the build your own breakfast. Strong coffee, super friendly service, nice big seating areas. Arrive with your full party early and enjoy.

Missy Smalls21:15 07/26/23
Food was decent, I enjoyed my deviled eggs, and the skillet didn't need collard greens. Beyond that okay. I didn't get the waffles I ordered so that sucked. And the mango pineapple margaritas had too much fruit it kept getting suck in my straw. I will try them again, the food wasn't bad and I can try something else!

Nicole Reaves20:07 07/24/23
The wait was an hour on a Saturday afternoon for some blah, blah food. The 3 of us ordered shrimp n grits on fried green tomatoes, hash browns, bacon, pimento cheese biscuit, something was deviled eggs, stuffed french toast and I can't remember what else we ordered. Our server wasn't good with getting our food out together. I had to wait a good 15 minutes for my french toast to come out after my eggs, bacon & hash browns came out. I do know that I won't be back, the other 2 agreed they won't be back either due to the food was just not worth wait nor were the pineapple margarita that pretty much tasted like water down sangrias. I've been to the Annapolis location & that was a much better food experience. I gave it 2 stars because my bacon was actually good.

Jonathan Kral19:09 07/01/23
If I could give 10 stars I would!I went here this morning with my wife and sister. They had a short wait considering it was a Saturday.Jonathan greeted us with a warm smile and great service. We ordered the Fried Green Tomato Crab Benedict, Egg Salad and Oatmeal. Everything was delicious!I would highly recommend when you are in the Baltimore Metro area.

We came here for brunch on a visit to Baltimore. I liked that they have an indoor and outdoor dining porch as it was drizzling when we came. We sat in the indoor dining porch so it still felt like it was outside but we didn’t get rained on. I ordered the coconut cream french toast with a side of bacon and eggs. It was huge. 3 people could have shared it! My husband ordered from the lighter fare menu but ordered a side of bacon grits and hash browns. We also tried the peach, mango and blueberry biscuits. The cheese pimiento butter they came with tasted a bit odd, but Melissa kindly brought us regular butter also. Needless to say, we needed boxes. When I come back, I will try the shrimp and grits! Staff was very helpful, one even walked me to the restroom (they are located outside the restaurant). Overall a great experience. Highly recommended.

This place is absolutely incredible! I was surprised by the selection of food, and decided to go with one of the more elaborate specials. The 'Shut the Fluff Up French Toast' (pictured), and my Sibby got the Pumpkin pancakes. We also shared an order of Bacon Dippers, as well as a Sin Roll, and it was essentially the best cinnamon roll ever, it was the size of my head.I don't usually go for this kind of thing normally - pancakes, waffles, french toast, sure! But I always shied away from the more... special specials...? I'd never had anything like this before, and I most certainly don't regret it.I should mention that the coffee was also fantastic, and I'd love to know what kind they use.In short - It was all amazing, I can't wait to try this place again. Also - I wish I had gotten a good picture of the storefront, as it looks beautiful with the living vines.

Zari “The PhotoLadyy” DeMesme19:11 06/29/23
If you’re a French toast lover this is definitely the spot for you! Get the captain crunch French toast. It’s absolutely amazing! I would recommend coming early if you want to dine in, but the food quality is exactly the same if you order carry out.

Mark Torres03:06 04/22/23
So had breakfast here with a close friend of mine that is like family to me. We reached there about close to 10AM. Ordered a lot for breakfast due to hunger. We sat outside due to the inside of the cafe being crowded. Not too bad and checking out the streets were a plus for me. Lost a point due to the inserted 10% gratuity because we just slightly hit above 50 dollars total in our shared bill. Look the food was delicious no doubt or argument there. But that extra money pull was not nice and I wish there was a physical menu for us to use instead of us needing to use a phone scan or website. I maybe old fashioned in how I normally order my food and tip if the service was good

Safiya Parker04:24 02/04/23
Saw all the reviews and pictures and had to check it out myself. The menu has so many good sounding items. First, parking can be a headache if you've been towed from street parking before but did find a park right in front of the hair salon directly across from the restaurant. We got there a little after 11a and was able to seat self. The menu is QR scan and 20% gratuity is included. The service was definitely worth the included gratuity. Ordered Julio's tacos and full moon with bacon & apple pancakes and a side of cheesy grits. Great things were said about the cheesy grits. I loved the pancakes mostly. I would come back to try more of the menu. My downside is how small the space can feel and dark. We sat by a window so we had light. I'd go check out the one on Light street to see if its a different experience.

NAT SCOTT02:51 04/12/22
Pro: Get the Cinnamon Toast Crunch French Toast. It taste just as good as it looks and sounds.Con: Waited an hour for a table. I think they should implement a reservation service for Sundays or other busy brunch days. Nonetheless the service was great and the food came out fast.

We went here for breakfast while visiting Baltimore. It was exceptional! I ordered the seafood Benedict, and I may come back to Baltimore just to have it again. My companion had a simple breakfast of eggs, toast, and fruit, and it was still elevated to a level of gourmet quality. Fresh ingredients, beautiful plates. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fantastic breakfast!

Tybria Wright22:25 04/02/23
The three stars is just for the food because that was the worst service. Had reservations but still had to wait because of a party but why take reservations if you know you might can’t take people. But the food was truly amazing(Seafood Benedict). They put two tiny shrimp with the meal and I didn’t see the tomatoes and the spinach was more of a small salad but overall the food was truly amazing

Mary15:34 03/04/23
Whoever gave poor reviews must be real snobs. We made an online reservation but showed up early and were seated immediately and given a window seat, which was really nice. The waitress was very sweet and the either owner or chef (or both) visited our table twice, once to bring little mini cookies while we waited for food and once to check on how everything was. I had the French toast dream (french toast with fresh berries and a raspberry chocolate drizzle). It was awesome. I got two sunny side up eggs with it and bacon. Another review said they burn the bacon, and that is untrue. They make crispy bacon, not burned. If you like flaccid bacon, maybe order sausage instead, but I loved it! My husband got the seafood Benny, an eggs Benedict served over crab cakes with shrimp, spinach, tomatoes, and a side of potatoes. I don't eat seafood, but it looked fantastic. He loved his meal more than I expected him to. If you're in the area, please go visit. It's delicious, clean, and welcoming.

Davina Barbee18:04 02/26/23
The food was AMAZING!!! We did have to wait a bit but it was DEFINITELY worth it! Just make sure you get a reservation beforehand. I had the apple pecan pancakes and split a basket of biscuits and they were amazing. Definitely better than my mom's cooking!

Anissa Moyston22:52 02/12/23
I was in Baltimore for my cousin’s inauguration and we were looking for a quick breakfast before our flight back home. We stopped at Saturday Morning Cafe and went against Shirley’s, that was recommended to us.I ordered the Apple Pecan French Toast with eggs and bacon. It wasn’t terrible, but I wasn’t THAT impressed. What was terrible was the customer service - the server barely spoke above a whisper, didn’t offer any recommendations (like we asked) and the wait was absurd and we were the only people in the restaurant.Definitely won’t be back!

Michael W13:20 07/06/23
My friend and I came here to grab breakfast and drinks. When we arrived we asked to sit at the bar which had ample seating available; we were told the bar is only for regulars unless it was just one person being seated. We were asked to sit at a table. The menu is limited and doesn’t have a variety of options. The server took my order without writing it down and it came out incorrect, the potatoes are very greasy and lack flavor. The only good experience was the pineapple mimosas. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the servers name, she never told us.

Erica Arias13:07 06/20/23
Spoons is AMAZING my brother kept talking this place up. So he finally took us. The food was very delicious. The cheese grits amazing. Everything I tried I enjoyed.

I cannot say enough great things about Spoons! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, making for a perfect dining experience. I highly recommend trying the Hot Hen Sriracha Biscuit Sandwich with Eggs and the Vanilla Lavender Latte! Both were incredible. I will definitely be returning to Spoons, this is an amazing spot!"

OMG!!! Errrrrrthing here is soooo good!! They have breakfast and brunch PERFECTED!! I’ve been here twice and could not get enough each time. I don’t even know where to start! The fried oysters & grits were magnificent! The cinnamon roll pancakes are to die for!!! It’s a small venue with BIG TASTE and you must have reservations because everyone wants some of Spoons, but I tell you no matter how far out the reservation it’s always worth the wait!! You will not be disappointed, everything we tasted was so good. Not sure who the cooks are but they got each dish right!!

MaeTCB18:20 05/08/22
Amazing food and drinks!! This is my first time here and it impressed me! I got the Cinnamon Rumchata Latte and the Risotto Benedict. The inside is very nicely decorated too. 10/10 would recommend.

The atmosphere was next level amazing!!! So much to see and take in and every bit of it extraordinary!!! Downside is it's small so there's a wait but it was a little disappointing to see quite a few empty tables when we were finally able to make it inside. Maybe they were shortstaffed and had to stagger tables. Food was interesting. I wasn't a big fan of my Morning Glory but everyone else liked theirs well enough.

Sanjai Sinha03:51 07/03/23
Absolutely delicious breakfast quesadilla, getting it with chicken, added to the bacon that comes with it is surprisingly good. My son had the pigs in a blanket (sausage in a pancake with powdered sugar) also delish. Attentive service, everyone was so friendly. Really great kitschy decor!

Elizabeth Hadden02:14 05/20/23
Kitsch & delicious! The decorations are so wonderful (even the bathroom!) and the food was very good too. Loved the crab cake sandwich and the meatloaf sandwich as well! Milkshake took a while but it was SO worth it.There’s a small parking lot up front with some handicapped spaces and a larger lot across the street for general parking.

Viggy Vanchi23:56 05/18/23
This is where you go after waking up late on a Saturday morningI was taken here by friends craving Papermoon's peanut butter milkshakes which I heard were famous. We waited for about 30 minutes and the milkshakes did not disappoint whatsoever. I think it was one of the best milkshakes I've ever had. I got to taste the chocolate and vanilla flavor, and I would personally go for the vanilla one. You can definitely taste the PB more.We also got the Vanilla Custard French Toast, which I shared with another person. Everything was absolutely delicious. Just beware of peak hours and the spending minimum. You won't be able to get just a milkshake; you'll have to get other items too.

Ping Regis19:54 05/01/23
This is a fun brunch/breakfast spot to bring friends visiting the city. It's VERY busy on weekends or on nice weather days. The dining areas are large but compact due to the set up of the restaurant. The menu is HUGE with lots of options, and at least a few things for vegetarians and vegans. We got the turkey powerhouse sandwich, veggie omelette with sourdough toast, and steak and eggs omelette. All were cooked well! It's what you'd expect from diner food. Though the staff was incredibly busy, our food was brought out at a reasonable time and the server kept our coffees and waters topped off. I was surprised to see milkshakes on the menu-- and overheard that lots of people love them and the kitchen was a little backed up on service due to the high demand. Totally understandable cause I eyed other tables that had them with envy, haha.Overall a really fun spot with lots of interesting decor to chat about, and great vibes while you're with friends. Can be a little loud and/or overstimulating depending on how busy it is.

The food was pretty good. Seasoning for some of the items would've been a plus. A bit overpriced for the meal. My waitress was very pleasant and great. The buttermilk pancakes with syrup was delicious and the grits were great as well.

Jurez BrownMaritnez15:33 07/06/23
Do not order the shrimp omelette, it was under cooked. Have no idea what the yellow custered was, it had no smell or taste. As splitting the omelette open it was extremely oily, not enough eggs, too many peppers. No salt, pepper or sort of seasoning. It tasted like nothing - just vegetable oil.

Denise Watkins21:11 04/03/23
My Belgium waffle experience! I’m not much for waffles but I must say my meal consisted of an order of Belgium waffles, scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. The waffles were crispy on the exterior with a light and fluffy interior. Charming atmosphere, friendly staff and a great dining experience.

Jay Wilson21:14 11/12/22
Original Pancake House was really good, there was a wait but it wasn't that long. My server was wonderful and greeted me with a smile. The food was really good and everything came out hot. A little disappointed that u didn't get warm syrup with the meal and also there was trash under my table that I wasn't pleased about. The bathroom was clean but didn't have paper towels in the dispenser. However, overall I gave them 4 stars, I would go back again and they are really reasonable

Anahita Khosravi17:55 07/24/22
Staff were friendly but the food was not good.Everything was really slow, we waited for about 20 minutes to see our server, who was not very responsible, the coffee mug was stained with a sauce, which the server said is from a food that they were carrying. However, they didn't change the coffee 😒Anyway, we had to wait for almost 40 minutes to get the food, and it was not good at all! The server was repeating that the restaurant is very crazy todayWe got egg Benedict, french toast, biscuits and sausage gravy. The best part was the pancakes and it was really delicious and fluffy. They automatically added 18% tip, and we didn't like it because of the bad service

Ugh, I just love this place. Mike is exceptional when it comes to service. He remembers you by name and the staff are always pleasant. My company orders from here quite often so I do as well. they never get an order wrong! I just wish they'd cut the celery smaller for the tuna salad. lol other than that you cant go wrong with ANYTHING here. So stop by soon! Delicious Greek Salad with chicken.

This is usually a five star place but the food i received today was less than that. I usually get the pipeline. Potatoes, eggs, bacon and sausage. This one i received was just potatoes and eggs! Where is the meat?!! Payed over $19 for potato’s? Come on

Jaimie Merritt20:55 10/12/22
My experience is a little different than these other reviews. I’m a full time server here and adore each and every one of my amazing, loyal customers. The owners are TOP OF THE LINE amazing, staff is impeccable. We all work together as a team to make sure everyone has a great experience and we hope you all enjoy coming as much as we love serving South Baltimore and all the awesome visitors from all over! The food was great. Our server was attentive to us. I ordered chicken and Waffles with scrambled eggs. The chicken was nice and tender. I love Belgian waffles and our perfect, nice and fluffy, light. The eggs were good. Looking forward to my next visit. It's a small casual place but they also offer outdoor seating, which is great on the really nice days where it's not too hot or cold or windy. Children friendly as well. Good for small groups. I definitely highly recommend.

Best breakfast In Baltimore! Staff is super friendly! Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Seating is limited. If they are busy, it's only a 5 min walk to "Canton Waterfront Park."

Another awesome visit to Simply Marie’s. The food is home made and delicious! Please wait for your order as everything is cooked to order. The menu is awesome. Staff and chef are amazing. A real Baltimore gem. Portions are generous. You need to eat here!!!!

Alexis Rhodes16:42 04/28/23
I am beyond happy and satisfied with my experience at simply Marie’s. The food was fresh and cooked to order. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and all of the food was seasoned to perfection. The owner was extremely kind and accommodating. She was welcoming and made sure all of my condiments and utensils were easy to find in a separate bag. I didn’t have to wait for a long time for a meal cooked from scratch and my coworkers and I were beyond impressed and will be returning for staff breakfast often. I do not say any of this lightly as I eat from my own kitchen and MAYBE a few other restaurants I frequent that I can TRUST! I will be adding simply Marie’s to that list 😉 Thank you so so much for making our day! We loved the food and we love you!

Lakeia Newkirk18:59 02/16/23
Simply Marie's is exceptional! Stopped in for my birthday breakfast. It was our first time. We lucked up and came during a time the dine in space was available. There are 7 or so dine sits, so be prepared to take your food with you, maybe to Caton Park, which is 2 blocks away. Breakfast was very tasty and well prepared, and you can choose from many menu options. I had #5 (breakfast meat, eggs, home fries instead of grits, and wheat toast with jam). Portions and cost were on point. I love the service at the place, and the chef/owner was so friendly. I felt like I was at my auntie's house. I highly recommend this place.

Went here for the first time for my Birthday Breakfast 🍳 🥞 today!!! Yes 🙌 !!! Everything was great. Food, coffee, service, speed of getting our order to our table, even checking out was easy and fast. Called ahead 2 days to see if I needed reservations, they are first come first serve, but let me know that before 9am on the weekends, it’s pretty quiet. A+ from me, and I’m pretty particular about where I spend my $$

Blue Moon Too was amazing! My daughter, friend and I visited for breakfast/brunch and could not have been more pleased. We were greeted warmly the moment we arrived, the hostess graciously asked if we wanted to sit at the bar area until a table became open, and we did! We were served waters right away and only a few minutes later we were escorted to our table. The vibe is very chill and relaxed. Great art featuring rock stars and actors from the last 50+ years! We loved checking out the artwork for sale. Breakfast did not disappoint! We ordered an assortment of selections including, the cheesy grits, which are to die for, huervos rancheros, scrambled hash and also the best burger we have had in a long time. Blue moon burger was stuffed with blue cheese, some bacon, carmeized onions, and mushrooms complete this dish. Portions are huge! Our only disappointment was that there are no t-shirts in stock to purchase. We will definitely be back and also want to try the original Blue Moon cafe.

Brianna Carre23:39 07/03/23
WORTH THE WAIT! We had to wait about 45 minutes to get in, BUT HOLY MOLY. It was so worth it. We were greeted with water and brought drinks right away. Our server was so friendly and fast. Our food was out within 10 minutes - everything was hot, fresh and DELICIOUS. I ordered the Sweet Baby Jesus and it was the most amazing breakfast/brunch meal I’ve ever had. The prices seem high when you’re reading the menu for the first time, but once you get your plate, you understand why. The portions are pretty large and the quality is top tier. I will absolutely be back!

Melissa S.18:31 06/27/23
Super cool vibe and good food selection. My partner had the old fashioned potato pancakes which he said were amazing. He also had the turkey sausage which was very good. I had blueberry pancakes which were tasty.

Amanda H20:07 04/13/23
This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Baltimore city. Either location is always fantastic. I tell everyone to order a short stack of the Captain Crunch French Toast for everyone to try, even if no one is feeling a sweet breakfast. You can’t leave here without getting a bite of this.I’ve eaten pretty much everything on the menu, and trust me it’s all amazing. My go to is the scrambles (veggie, hobo eggs, Mexican…). I don’t know how they make something so simple so tasty. If you’re looking for something more interesting, go with whatever is on special. Some of the best meals here are their specials. Like around thanksgiving they have a savory French toast dish with all your favorite thanksgiving dinner ingredients. If I have a say in what my last meal on earth will be, I am choosing this. Oh, and their jam is amazing. Order it even if you don’t get biscuits. Eat it with a spoon. Take a whole jar home. There’s no wrong choice.
