I'm usually not the one to write reviews but this place impressed me so thoroughly I couldn't help but to advocate for it. Along with all the lovely types of pancake dishes to breakfast items you can choose from, you can't go wrong with any because it is absolutely flavorful and keeps you wanting more. If I had one criticism, it's that there is a line to wait on but if you're hungry I think it is certainly worth the wait.

Joslyne Vazquez01:12 07/04/23
Great experience, a little bit of a wait (like 30 minutes) but the food is totally worth it, they have A/C and comfortable seating.

Pattaratida S11:00 04/15/23
Would recommend avocado & bacon sandwich (+add on fried egg). There was quite a queue on weekend afternoons. Wait time is about 30mins++

Jimmy D10:50 01/26/23
Great vibe, polite staff, but quite a long wait in the morning due to limited seating, so be prepared. The French toast I ordered was amazing. Cream was thick and smooth. The donut wasn’t very sweet, so it will suit certain tastes. Loved everything very much, and will revisit again when I’m in the area again.

Abz Hakim05:08 11/07/22
I got the tuna melt with a side salad. It was a tasty sandwich! Decent portion and well toasted. Good flavours for sure. My only critic would be to maybe a pickle and tomato in the sandwich for a little acid. Cheese was good but could been more prominent. I paid 1375 yenI would come here again for sure!Would be nice to see a grilled veggies and pesto vegetarian sandwich option.

I googled best breakfast place Osaka and this is what popped up first on a few “American” / “international” sites we tourists are used to. So we came here.As soon as I saw that the menu is in English and everyone at the restaurant speaks English I knew what was going on 😂 Either way the restaurant, food and service was great! We were there at opening time and saw all the tourists like me rolling in to the restaurant. We even bumped in to 2 friends we knew from the US without communicating at all where we going. So it’s definitely a restaurant for tourists.Great vibe! Great food and great service! They have outside seating as well. The restaurant is on the first floor so take the escalator up and turn right.

nathnicha boonrith03:44 08/02/23
The food was delicious and came in a big portion. The decoration and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very beautiful. However, one of the worker acted unappreciated and looked like she did not want to service us at all. Apart from this, the overall price and taste is considered to be good. I hope that at least the waitress should treat the customers better than this.

Adrian K00:19 07/29/23
It was rather one of those more expensive breakfasts but for sure we did enjoy it. It was very tasty and the portions were impressive. The restaurant is located inside an office building and you need to take the escalator to the 2nd floor - you will not see it from the street so you need to simply trust Google maps to find the right entrance. It is not a typical Japanese place as it is very international and it feels more like Europe or the US than Japan - which is not a bad thing, because the quality is top level.

Elise kwon08:02 07/16/23
We love their food so much! Best pancake ever and the loco moco dish it’s the best by far! Atmosphere is nice n cozy and they offer outdoor seating area too! Definitely will come back again!

Hanzo15:17 06/25/23
We had the chocolate & banana pancakes, strawberry pancakes and Teriyaki chicken with scrambled eggs. Everything was nice. I love their generous portion. The staff were very friendly and patient to explain to us the menu. Would love to come back again.

Chen Nicole12:37 08/03/23
On August 2nd afternoon around 1:30ish, me and my friend met at Bills for lunch. When we went in, there was no queue with empty tables in the restaurant. My Japanese isn’t good enough so my friend who has lived in Osaka for 20 years and is fluent in Japanese spoke to the hostess for a table for two people. The hostess asked us to wait outside of the restaurant and we did.As we waited for about 5 minutes, 2 Caucasian tourists went in. One of them looked at us wondering if they should queue outside as well, just then the hostess greeted them, picked up the menus and seated them in the restaurant.I was shocked with what I just saw and wanted to speak to the hostess, she dismissed us by telling us to wait a minute and quickly walked away. By then I was already disgusted with the service and lost my appetite to dine at Bills.I cannot believe what I experienced at a popular touristy spot in Umeda. I even tried to find a reason of why she asked us to wait outside and immediately gave a table to other guests that came later. Shame on Bills for being a racist restaurant, the service is terrible and I regret I didn’t confront the restaurant on the spot. Osaka has many amazing restaurants and I feel so grateful that I live in such a wonderful city. Unfortunately Bills left a dirty spot in my experience in Osaka

Jessica Kherlakian05:17 01/29/23
We were hooked on Bills since visiting it in 2020 in Tokyo. Still consistent and high quality. Pancakes are still there for the win. Great cozy environment, super clean, and great service. A bit expensive compared to other restaurants in Osaka but still worth visiting.

Amanda Juray10:39 01/28/23
If you're looking for a taste of Australia in Japan, this is it! Japan does a lot of things perfectly, but coffee is not one of them, so my joy at getting an almond milk iced latte and having it taste just like my favorite cafe back in Melbourne was REAL. The big breakfast was fantastic and the service was perfect. I wanted to come back the next day but there's simply too much to try in Osaka.

Kevin04:04 01/03/23
French toast tasted good. However, I waited for more than 35 minutes after putting down the order, which I am not informed beforehand. Service was lacking attention

Grace Botros00:49 11/15/22
I am staying in Osaka for 4 days- I have come to bills Osaka 2 out of those 4 days. The whole experience was like being back in Sydney. Excellent flat white, beautiful layout and decor, fantastic service. Tasty food, and they serve Vegemite!!! I love Japanese food but my husband and I missed our Aussie breakfasts. We would recommend Bills for anyone who want a taste of Australian cafe culture. A little pricey- but that’s normal, especially in Australia.

Really good buffet.Occidental and oriental food in the same place: bread, rice, scrambled eggs, tamagoyaki, okonomiyaki, assorted cheese, etc.Definitely worth this place!!!

Lisa Tam10:26 04/14/23
Regret to be here as I chose this buffet during my stay in osaka . Possible the worst value and variety I could get. Not up to par if you paid 5500 yen for mini burger, pizza and deep fried chicken etc. They are offering the strawberry dessert buffet but you can see they repeated a few kinds of pudding of puffs on several stations, they are actually the same. For the options and quality, i dont think 3 hr is needed, and i can finish in an hour because there is nothing much you can eat or want to eat. One female sever was quite careless to drop utensil or food on the floor. At least a glass bowl was dropped and broken. I am quite disappointed to make the effort to get there for this experience.

Sophie Jourdain00:28 04/12/23
Best breakfast in town with local Japanese products and international options too. All that in a classy fancy hotel atmosphere.

John DiCaro22:57 11/09/22
The first buffet I went to in Japan and I can say it was the best. Variety of food, service and atmosphere. All great!

Antoine H11:07 04/05/19
Great Mediterranean buffet style with a large choice. Everyday it changes its country of focus. The buffet also has a very good live grill with beef, pork, and fish. It also has a large dessert selection (macarons, various cakes etc..). A little let down is the soft drink bar, but they have a great a la carte selection of wines and other alcohols. Also, it seems that the restaurant has been redisigned recently, so everything inside is completely new and very stylish. It’s worth to go take a look if you want to spend a classy evening.

Gem Lim23:59 04/06/23
We had a wonderful experience at the breakfast buffet! Came early, very spacious seating area, modern casual vibe, with really cute plates.Food choice is pretty standard, covers all your basics. Ingredients are fresh, neatly presented and reasonably priced. For 2000yen (not including tax and service), you get the hot food bar that has both western and japanese options, made to order omeletes, soup, salad, cereals, pastries, coffee/milk/juices. Great for our kiddo who can be a picky eater!Service was great, the host was able to speak English.

Johan Björefeldt09:26 07/06/23
Nice place for a western style breakfast, including bacon, eggs, toast. All the staff speak perfect English. I had the "Full Rugby" which was nice and quite filling. The avocado toasties and muesli were a bit bland. The coffee was great! This place can be a little hard to find as it's tucked away and not visible off the street. My photo shows what the entrance to the building looks like.

ALIA03:39 06/28/23
we had to wait in line, only 2 people in front of us but it took some time. I think it was worth the wait because the food was good.I got the toast with eggs and cheese and it was good. the coffee is good too.the staff are very nice. this place was only a 5 minutes walk from our hotel.

Sivan Elkabes07:37 06/08/23
I came here because it seemed like there are a couple of vegan options which is quite rare in Japan in general and in Osaka in particular.I tried to explain the waiter I’m vegan and if I can have the smashed avo without the poached egg or on the side for my family thinking this is how I turn this dish veganEnded up getting it with a sauce which was mayo, asked the waiter if I can have the dish without the sauce, found out the smashed avo is mixed with yogurt so I can’t have the dish at all.. order the gang toastie which was the ONLY option for vegans on the menu as opposed to the menus here on Google maps. The toastie was ok, no more than that.. pretty flavorless.. do not recommend this place for vegans. My family had some other things which were not vegan and they liked it.

Jesse Shelton03:35 06/04/23
Overall the food and service were great and the kids loved the Toasties, but to be nit-picky they lack a kids menu (like a simple scramble egg), they didn't have the smoked salmon which I was really looking forward to, and they didnt advertise their alcohol so I didn't ask, which is weird cause "craft and ciders" were in the name, but I did buy some ciders on the way out. Also, I hate paper straws. Either way good spot, definitely worth it.

Joleen Martis03:52 04/08/23
Great vibe, service, and food. After all the Kiseki and fish for breakfast I really wanted eggs and a really good coffee. This place was amazing. The chef really hustles to make good quality food and goes above and beyond for his customers. We came here once and he ran out of food but then recommended us to places for food and coffee. We came back again for full breakfasts and it did not disappoint.

Good cappuccino, commercial beans (not specialty coffee), nice foam, latte art and milk/coffee ratio.Dessert: brownies 4/5, their recommendation, lack deep taste of chocolate.Chocolate and nuts cookie 2/5, a bit dry, no filling, very little chocolate, dough a bit too salty considering there’s little sweetness to counter the saltiness.Would visit again

Revisited this cafe today. The last time we were here was during our last trip to Osaka back in 2016. The best latte that I have had on this trip. So if you are ever in the vicinity, go over and have a drink.

Small coffee shop but really good coffees🥹 the shop is really cute & great for chilling or to meet up with a friend. Really appreciate today’s coffee to create good mood for the rest of the day!

bulent nomer00:58 04/06/23
Canele and Original Blend drip hot coffee. ı am very pleased indeed with the combination. this blend is not sour / acidic and it has deep expresso like touch despite the filter paper. This is exactly how i like my coffee. Canele is, as expected, hard crusty shiny on the outside and soft, full of juicy dark chocolaty cream in the inside. Like an armadillo. i must come here again to have the same thing again.

Small and cozy place with a river view terrace. We had breakfast here. Chicken sandwich was ok, pancakes were amazing. The appearance of the food was on the highest level. My main and only complaint is the prices: it’s definitely on the expensive side, we payed almost 7k yen for 2 portions of pancakes, a sandwich and 2 coffees.Nevertheless, we enjoyed our breakfast very much. Getting a good non-Japanese breakfast in Japan might be challenging 🙂

Hαɳα KO22:59 06/12/23
2 girls had breakfast and it cost 5000 yen….Looks good in photo but didn’t taste good AT ALL. It was a waste of money and time really, we waited for like 30 min to get a seat. I saw a tiny little hair on my plate too but didn’t say anything tho.

Rosalina Dwi23:06 06/04/23
The place next by the river and has a river side seat. It's a nice restaurant to relax and enjoy the river view. The food also great, a bit pricy but they're giving a big portion 👌

Belma Sisic22:52 05/26/23
It’s sadness me to see this amazingly located little gem to have very low standard of food. Service was super slow (took 20-22min between order and service), Benedict eggs were over cooked and borderline cold, Hollandaise sauce had no taste. What really made me not appreciate this experience is the fact that they brought my coffee at the same time as breakfast, which means I had to wait for over 20min to get my cafe latte which takes approx 4min to make:Breakfast was definitely overpriced comparing to quality of it (over 20$)

John Phelan01:20 04/17/23
Great and high quality breakfast spot with sublime seating overlooking a canal. The staff were very friendly, and the food was both delicious and very high quality. The eggs alone were very rich and healthy, must be from a local farm. Overall a very nice way to start our day in Osaka and would recommend you do the same!

Pancake slightly hard, overall good and not a must try coffee place. There is a designated room for smoking customer.Service is good.

Zora Belle02:12 06/24/23
The good: the workers were excellent and the service was lovely. Very nice people, very amenable to changes and substitutions and good about any questions. The hotcakes and toast were really good. Some issues: the waitstaff were obviously understaffed and this was stressful for them. They needed at least one staff member. The prices in review need amending, here goes:Toast and boiled egg set (toast, boiled egg, drink) ¥630Ham and cheese toast sandwich set (sandwich, salad, and drink) ¥760Toast and scrambled eggs set (salad, ham, scrambled eggs, toast, and drink) ¥760Coarse ground sausage hot dog set (only hotdog and drink) ¥760Traditional hotcake set (only drink and hotcake) single ¥780 double ¥930When you order a meal you can add a salad, small coffee jelly, or boiled egg for ¥90 each, or jam for ¥50.The blend coffee was bitter, not particularly rich or strong. I didn't care much for it, but the breakfast was pretty good.

Was not allowed to sit outside because it was raining.... Even though outside dining was under cover. 1 star for the most ridiculous rule and I've been living in Japan for 9 years!

Nathan R02:00 03/30/19
Excellent coffee house with a great deal on breakfast specials. The toast and scramble was only 160 yen and everything tasted refreshing. Their house coffee blend had a unique flavor as well that I enjoyed. An English menu is available for easy ordering.

openwaterraver16:08 08/30/17
The best and most consistently great coffee I've had in Japan! Their "Charcoal Roasted Coffee" is a must try, perfectly balanced flavors. The staff is also very polite and friendly. The only reason I'm giving it only 4 stars out of 5 is because the non-smoking area can still get pretty smoky since they have an indoor smoking area and poor air circulation.
