Cool spot. So sad that the security Jasó, the guy with a mullet, he was flushing people on the face for no reason.smh. Not coming back. Exchange better

BEWARE!!I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to visit Sound Nightclub on a Saturday night, and let me tell you, it was an absolute nightmare. I cannot adequately express just how discriminatory and disrespectful this establishment is towards its customers. If there was an award for the worst nightclub experience ever, Sound Nightclub would be the undisputed winner. To begin with, the bouncers at this club seemed to believe they held the power to rule the world. They couldn't care less if you had a valid ticket or not; they relished in their ability to discriminate against innocent partygoers. It appears that their primary interest lies in extorting money from unsuspecting individuals just to gain entry into an overly crowded nightmare of a venue.Once you somehow managed to slide them a wad of cash, you would expect some semblance of enjoyment inside. Oh, how wrong you would be. Sound Nightclub was so astonishingly packed to capacity that it felt like being crammed into a sardine can. The lack of ventilation and the overwhelming heat made it impossible to breathe comfortably. It's mind-boggling how this place passes any sort of safety regulations.Furthermore, the hype surrounding Sound Nightclub is completely unwarranted. There is no justification for the excessive promotion and glorification of this establishment. The whole experience left me questioning why anyone would subject themselves to such torment willingly. In conclusion, I urge everyone to steer clear of Sound Nightclub. Save yourself the trouble, frustration, and disappointment of encountering the atrocious behavior of the bouncers and the suffocating atmosphere inside. There are plenty of other venues out there that actually value their patrons and provide an enjoyable experience. Sound Nightclub is an overrated, money-hungry establishment that I will never set foot in again, and I strongly advise against anyone else doing so as well.

I’ve been to this club 2x and I’ve enjoyed it thoroughly. Drinks are normal price for Hollywood clubs. Doesn’t take long to get a drink and there’s 4 bars. There’s room to dance if you know where to stand. There’s big edm names( deadmau5 played there in January 2023). Sound system is great. I think it’s a good venue. We’ve seen Grum and Roosevelt there and will definitely go back to see others.

Michael Redmond06:13 06/12/22
I'm really surprised by the negative reviews here. I've been to countless clubs all over the world, from Ibiza to Berlin to Vegas and beyond, and I can easily say that Sound punches way above its weight. The staff are very friendly and the crowd is great. The layout of the club is perfect with the VIP tables nicely to the sides of the dancefloor and not taking up too much space or getting in the way like they would in some of the big VIP focused clubs. The dancefloor size is perfect for the size of the venue and the Pioneer sound system is top class. I think the lighting setup is amazing yet so simple with the lamps/lanterns adding a very mystical feel to the room. The smoking area is also very cool and the layout of the club means that there's never any bottleneck areas when it gets busy. $8 for a beer is also great value for the location. There is a steady stream of top class house talent rolling through the club each month and around $20 for entry is a bargain.Overall I'm so happy to have an amazing club like Sound within driving distance and I'm constantly looking forward to the next big night there.

I saw the legend Arthur Verocai perform his beautiful, self-titled album there, and the atmosphere was great. I need to go on a typical club night to really assess the vibe but my experience was great.

Justin Rodriguez09:10 08/06/23
Paid a cover, music was good, bought drinks all night but this bartender refused to serve me water, told me to go to the bathroom to get water from the faucet, like what!!!

Kim19:46 07/04/23
June 2023 - Too expensive for the music and crowd.Pricing/Ambiance - $20 cover charge. Too expensive honestly. The music wasn't consistent and was difficult to dance to. Right when you get into it, the DJ changed the tempo. The crowd was a mix of tank tops and shorts to dress shirts and business casual. A fight broke out in the club and another fight broke out across the street from the venue but noone made a move to contact law enforcement or stop the fight. The venue overall is pretty big and I enjoyed the setup but that was it. Bathrooms were decently clean.Parking - Pricey lots nearby.

Vanessa Chaudhari07:31 06/26/23
This was my ever first time coming to The Mayanand on top of that, for a concert. There are a few parking lots across the street ($25-$30) which is convenient. The doors opened at 9:00 as stated but the show didn’t start till around 11:30. That was SUPER annoying. The drinks are strong but very expensive. The audio is horrible! For general admission there is plenty of uncomfortable seating all the way on top where the view is great however your behind will by numb by the end of the show. I would perhaps come back to dance, but not for an event.

Eric Cervantes15:41 05/06/23
The Mayan is a no fail entertainment venue in the DTLA area. They host many events that cater to dancing, concerts, and the like. But the reason I go is to see Lucha VaVoom, which is a lucha libre styled caucus of mayhem that only occurs four times in the year: Valentine's, Cinco de Mayo, Summer, and Halloween. It's definitely worth the price of admission!

Amazing venue. I was there to photograph Marcelo D2 as part of his American tour. The venue was fantastic, great layout and setup. The place was bouncing with a great atmosphere.

Garrett Reuscher16:38 06/01/17
Pricey, as nightclubs are. I can't say if entry was good or not because I was part of a club crawl that got us past the line. Drinks were rather small for the price. The club was spacious and it seemed like they did a decent job of keeping it full without overcrowding it, but no real seating since this place uses all of its booths for bottle service.

Shay Eff21:25 04/02/17
The customer service is extremely poor. The staff was extremely rude. Mid question, the host at the door said "I can't talk to you" and walked away. The event was advertised to be 10pm-6am but everyone was put out by 2:30am. Huge difference! VIP was in no way exclusive and crowded. The club itself was mediocre. The music was good. I did not have an opportunity to try the bar. It would have been nice if a last call for alcohol was given so I actually knew the bar was closing.Lina was helpful and accommodating. Definitely a hidden gem. Unfortunately that wasn't enough to salvage the place. I would never go here again. Spend your money at a club who actually appreciates your business and treats you as such.

Derek Kang02:47 03/09/16
The venue looks pretty outdated, but it was rather easy to get into. The downside of bottle service is that security is really lacking, and people can easily go into your table and cause drama. We had two separate occasions of people coming into our table, and we had to hunt down the venue employees before things were taken care of.

Danny Nguyen22:31 12/13/15
A really nice venue to go to for clubbing. There's lots of street parking on Ivar if you're lucky! If not, there are small lots that are 5-6 bucks on Ivar too. The place looks really nice and its pretty fun with a big group of friends. If you didn't get a table, be prepared to dance all night for 3-4 hours! The only complaint I have is drink prices, but then that's the price of almost every club. Drinks were 15 and up, which is pretty high but oh well! Don't bother bringing in a jacket, cause once you dance for a couple hours, you'll be all hot and sweaty!

Beautiful venue with nice city views from the 21st floor. Bar staff was great! Drinks were strong, so be cautious. Lol Feels like a place to dress up for. Valet was my only downside. $12 is crazy

View was beautiful. There was no line around 10:45pm ..The vibe was great. But the DJ kept playing some of the same songs which wasn't that great.

Awesome bar with amazing views of downtown Los Angeles. The bartenders were great. Although the drinks are pricey the ambience and atmosphere make up for it!

The Hollywood Pub Crawl wouldn’t have been amazing without the host Alyssa! She is one of the most fun and energizing hosts I’ve come in contact with. She made the entire experience fantastic! I hope she will be hosting more events like these in the future. Rock on Alyssa 🤟🏽!!!

Alyx21:27 10/07/18
This was my first time in California along with my husband. We were clueless as to where we wanted to go downtown but planned a Hollywood clubbing night now. It was AMAZING! The hosts are sooo friendly and lots of fun! They know how to keep your night entertaining. Prepare for some walking. Not very far. Loved the group atmosphere. This club crawl made you feel VIP. The clubs were also amazing. You spend just enough time at each one and the hosts do a good job at rounding you up to get to the next club. Shout out to our host Angel! He was awesome! Drinks are pricey but hey it's Hollywood. Prepare for $10+ per drink. This club crawl takes care of your cover for each club and gives you reasonable drink specials and there's no wait to get in! Will absolutely do this again!

Kiersten Bakowski04:34 08/22/18
If you are going to nightclubs, you NEED to go with the club crawl!!!!! If you want a more relaxed scene, this is not the event for you. We had a ladies night out and it was a blast. Our host Mike went above and beyond for us. We already are planning our next night out with you guys! Thank you so much for the hospitality, next ladies night we are going to try the Downtown Los Angeles club crawl.

Hobe Robin04:15 09/28/17
An awesome way to walk down the Walk of Fame and have a great time! The hosts are incredibly nice and make you feel really welcome. The club selection and music was wonderful! It was a fun time and I met some really cool people! Highly recommend and I will definitely go on the club crawl again.

Alexander Ontiveros20:28 07/04/17
I hardly go out, luckily a good friend invited to me to go and it was a blast! Right when I got to the to first club it was like the opening event and club after club it just got better. The clubs were themed and very nice with a ready to dance environment. It was really cool because I got to go in a group so I got to talk and meet with everyone in my group plus the people at the club. It was a terrific first experience thanks to the hosts Melody and Angel! Definitely an experience to try again!

Took my sister and mom for the first time and they had fun. I'm sure we will be coming back . The negative is the bar is slow and backed up also no waitresses so getting drinks is very difficult.

Jeannette Larrea04:24 11/13/22
We had been attending this club every Friday. We loved the music, specially salsa. The band is very courteous and professional as are the bartenders as well. The security personal are always ready to welcome the clients, of course they also have a job to do therefore if people get out of line , they will step in to make sure the clients are safe. The people that we encounter every Friday are very respectful, well manner and friendly. Overall I believe that some of the negative reviews that had been stated here are a hyperbole. We enjoy our visit every Friday.

Rycenbeans18:25 07/07/21
An awesome venue in a crowded market. Excellent food let's this bar stand above the rest.Great shows, decent prices on drinks (for LA), a really good sound system and food that stands leagues above average bar fare catapults Club Bahia to excellence. The wait staff are kind and attentive, and the location is well positioned with plenty of curbside parking available for free and within walking distance of the venue.Enjoy a night out on the town and visit Club Bahia. Do not forget to get the delicious tacos!

Such a classic in a neighborhood changing extremely fast. Such a rad interior, good people, loud tunes. If you time it just right grab tall boys and cruise Guisados before a show (lots of cool things going on during the week). Places like this will be so hard to find in a few years, enjoy it while you can caballeros.

Very beautifull club with good Light show and screen. But It is urgent to review the sound system, a very present echo, non-existent midrange, the speakers badly positioned. Switch to a line array system and your club will be amazing.

Z07:36 04/11/23
Chill club. It's pretty big. Just 1 big dance floor. The stage and lighting are awesome. Security is really nice compared to other clubs.Parking is terrible. Every weekend is a different theme. They charge $40 to park in their lot. I found a parking structure 1 block south vine for $10, just a 5 min walk.

The Avalon was the perfect venue for Capcom Cup IX! Leslie and the entire Avalon staff were incredibly professional and so easy to work with during our event/shoot. Highly recommend this venue if you're looking to host an eSports tournament and livestream.

I’ve organized our event in Avalon and was so impressed with the management and staff! Their ability to go an extra mile to accommodate all our requests was incredible. And then the event went great, the space was clean, staff was above and beyond helpful. As the organizer and a guest - highly recommend

What and amazing venue! The acoustics were great. The architectural design a classic 1920's vibe, but also up dated with a state of the art visual and sound system.I had the opportunity to attend The Grammy Teen Concert produced BTMR ENT and RAW Nation which featured a number of upcoming talented young performers.I enjoyed all the groups, my favorite was the group Lyyonce Love the music was phenomenon as well as the dancers/choreography - Although they are just teens, they are definitely SUPERSTARS in the making. In terms of seating, there was ample seating, the bar had that classic 1920's design. Although, food is available, we did not try ordering. The facility has two Parking was good, as there is a parking lot adjacent to the building pricing is between $40 to $50 for VIPIt was a pleasure visiting the historic Hollywood Live-Music Venue.
