Real Customer Reviews at Double Yolk:
Bourne Wang13:26 08/08/23The eggs in the BEC is way too salty. I couldn’t even finished the sandwich given how salty it is. It looks better than it tastes. I looked at other reviews, and this came up quite often. Would recommend putting “lightly salted” in the special request box if you’re ordering takeout. The yogurt is very good. Andrew tenBrink01:42 07/21/23The breakfast sandwiches here are amazing! It’s great spot and the food is WILD. The hashbrown is delicious and you must get it Anyone who says otherwise… well you get the idea. The brioche is soft and fluffy, and the eggs cannot be more perfect.I do think the hot-sauce is off point. Its a citrusy pineapple sauce and this sando needs a more peppery hot sauce. Otherwise 10/10. Jill Yang17:58 07/13/23The brioche bun egg with broccoli cheddar n basil is alright(little bit on the salty side), The hash brown has a unique shape, texture is nice, temperature is good but super salty, unbearable, told the staff and she said : “oh I am really sorry“ period…. Bad customer service experience👎🏻$15+ for these… not again Kevin Yuen22:42 07/04/23GREAT BRUNCH CHOICE WHILE EXPLORING TIN BUILDINGWandered into the Tin Building after a 10K run and was looking for something substantial, but simple. Double Yolk definitely hit the spot. Tried the Brunch Burger on an English muffin and my fiance had the "Naked plus Cheddar plus smoked bacon" on a brioche bun. The egg was fluffy and delicious and we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of bacon and meat in each sandwich. Gentlemen we placed our order with was friendly and helpful. I wish they would have more salad options to complement their breakfast sandwiches. While they list salad as a side option, it wasnt available when we went at noon. Otherwise, great place and would go back. ESB NYC20:37 12/23/22We had the brunch burgers, which we thought was a metaphor, but it is an actual burger. I think I would’ve preferred this on a brioche bun, but we weren’t asked and it was served on an English muffin, so that was disappointing. I was actually in the mood for an egg sandwich and those looked pretty good, but everything is fully priced in this place. While it is definitely better than an Egg McMuffin, I’m not sure I could say it’s worth the extra 15 bucks… also, I think they could use a little more training on service in this place.

Katrina Gulley03:39 07/02/23BELIEVE THE HYPE!!I stayed at the DoubleTree and was delighted to see this jewel at the corner.Excellent food and excellent service!!!! Best foodcart breakfast I’ve ever had. joshua weissman14:32 06/26/23Excellent breakfast sandwich. Best breakfast spot around Anthony Scrima12:41 05/23/23This place is a hidden gem of the Financial District and is, in my opinion, the best breakfast cart in the area! With BaconEggandCheese's (yes one word) being so full, there's nowhere else that will give you such bang for your buck. The sandwiches are great and he doesn't skimp on egg or bacon. Also, it is open weekdays until 11 (11:30 if there's still business coming through)Highly recommend this place which is why I wanted to post it up here on Google Maps! Rob Backstrom21:57 04/12/23Can't say enough about this spot. I stayed in FiDi for 4 days and ate breakfast here all 4 days. Really good food and it's cheap. Yeah you have to wait in line outside but it's worth it. This dude hustles and you can tell people love him and he loves what he does. Heidi Martin17:18 07/11/22While in NY we had to try a food truck experience, and this one was amazing! Great service. Fast and delicious breakfast when visiting lower Manhattan. If you go near closing time (closes at 11 am) he might be out of some ingredients. It did not affect my family, though.

Alex Wiley22:18 07/02/23Tiny place but great for breakfast! We had a reservation which is key. The staff are awesome and the food is delicious. I enjoyed a cappuccino and the ricotta scramble. My table also ordered the biscuit with honey butter and strawberry preserves to share, it was so tender and buttery! Aly16:49 06/06/23VERY small place with incredible staff and food. Like a few comments have said, make a reservation if you're visiting on peak! The food was perfection, every bite was incredibly flavorful! For 2 alcoholic drinks, 2 entres and a shared side it came out to $82 and change. Not bad at all, right in the middle for what to expect in the city. Please check it out of you have a chance! Angela Peng22:55 04/29/23This place honestly quite disappointing. I've heard good things about the food here and finally made a res and came. I got a sausage egg and cheese burger and it tasted like any deli/bodega could make that...and it's $15. The lavender latte was not very strong either. Would not recommend and wouldn't come back again. Ashish Aggarwal20:42 04/15/23Was really excited to try this place after reading all the positive reviews! And seeing this mentioned on ‘top brunch spots’ lists.. Unfortunately was a bit underwhelming :/Made reservations ahead of time so didn’t have to wait - highly recommend doing this, especially during the wknd, gets packedGot their signature Egg Shop B.C.E. - ‘bacon and cheese egg sando’ that comes w/ egg, white cheddar, bacon, tomato jam, pickled jalapeño.. on ciabatta rollSubstituted bacon for plant based baconWas literally 4 out of 10! For starters, way way too much ciabatta.. mostly a bread roll with a sprinkle of egg.. which meant everything was bit dry.. the plant based bacon was way too sweet and tasted like rubber dipped in maple syrupDidn’t finish this bc was just not worth itLove scrambled eggs so got their classic Scramble dish - grilled corn, mushrooms, chives, cotija cheese.. w/ sourdough toast5 out of 10.. eggs were overcooked, everything was dry (again). Not enough cheese.. was meh.. toast was underwhelming too :/Buddy wasn’t happiest with his brekkie either.. the coffee was good, came hot.. which was nice.. service was solid especially given the busynessBit confused what all the hype is about! Maybe ordered the wrong stuff.. wouldn’t lose sleep over this if you don’t visit. Plenty of other spots to check out esp in NYC! Shaun Young22:22 02/24/23Egg Shop is a charming little breakfast spot. Highly recommend making a reservation before going as it’s a small space and fills up quick. The ricotta scramble toast was good, a bit heavy on the truffle flavor. The hash browns with bourbon chipotle ketchup were fantastic and cooked to crispy perfection.I will definitely be back to try to avo toast.Service was friendly and fast.

Zenia Mei14:01 08/07/23Recommended by a friend. You walk upstairs and feel like you entered a Filipina auntie’s home. Feels very cozy. The food was delicious. Lechon was so crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. JAMES BROWN23:32 08/05/23This Filipino restaurant is a gem.The food is great. Each plate came with rice. Or sub garlic rice for extra.Lechon sisig was great. Wish it came with more peppers. Served on a sizzling plate as per usual.Fried tilapia was on point. Perfectly fried. Eat all the bones too.Pork bbq skewers are hella good. 4 dollars a pop but their pretty big.The ampalaya is ampalaya. You love it or hate it. I thought that maybe after 10 years of not having it, that I’d like it. But it’s still a no from me dawg. For those unaware, this is a bitter melon dish. It’s name is suggestive of its flavor profile. The shrimp was good as was the sauce.Grilled Bangus was nice. Small portion. Came with grilled eggplant which was nice.Sago and halo halo were really good. Wish I had more stomach space to try more. Will definitely be coming back. The owner same up to us and asked about our dinner. VERY PLEASED. May15:19 07/01/23Came here on a Saturday morning. Only one table was being served. We ordered our food and two more tables were filled by people. Everyone else got their food except us. The two tables who came after us got their food and still we did not get ours. When the food finally came, it was cold. One of the tea cups they gave us had stains on it. One of the water had a black spec floating on top. Got breakfast and the egg was cold and hard as well as the rest of the food. There are many Filipino restaurants in the area and this will not be on my list to go to anymore. Seems like the quality has gone down. The staff was friendly, but what happened to the quality and cleanliness? They even added 18% gratuity on our tab, there were only 4 of us. Andrew Seelall (MrAndy)03:58 05/23/23Went with a group of 12, and luckily, they had seating. Prices are decent, good selection is varied, and the place is small, yet quaint. We ordered 2 platters, and it was amazing. It was my first time having Filipino food, and everything tasted great! I'd love to eat here again! Camille Juco04:22 04/30/23Possibly my favorite Filipino restaurant in Queens. Good, hearty comforting food. Get the lechon kawali for that perfectly crisp and crunchy bite 🤤 Servings are generous and the staff is so warm. Entrance is a bit confusing - door on the left is for pick ups, door to the right leads to the stairs and the restaurant is on the second floor. Definitely coming back when I miss the flavors of home

Bruno Ludovice00:54 04/06/23Rented this place for a party. What an amazing environment, really cosy, quiet and clean, the food was amazing. George was a really amazing host, very honest and flexible, he was ok with everything even with the fact that we broke a few plates and cups (little accident), I honestly don’t get service like this much lately and that’s really sad, more places and people should be like Eats Here and George. Highly highly recommended. Will come back over and over again. Kera Pal22:48 04/05/23Eats Here is a great dining space. Hosting an event here comes with great service and staff and the food is delicious; a mix of sandwiches, hot plate and salads. A great spot for lunch or dinner, they even have a breakfast menu! Welcoming atmosphere, will be a returning customer. Maya Nawrocki04:57 02/28/23We had our wedding here and the place is amazing and a lot of flexibility for their space! The service was great. Great bartender and server; thank you Keyra and nick. George assisted us from the beginning and set everything up exactly how we can imagine ☺️ I definitely recommend booking this for a venue or even just getting food. Definitely try the veal! Sergio Duarte16:51 01/23/23Top-notch for its category! Healthy meals, super affordable, authentic cooking, genuine restaurant operator. I had the chance of meeting him during my visit and it was extremely pleasant. It also has wifi for customers. Some chairs are cushioned which makes it more confortable. There's lots of windows so a lot of natural light comes in which is a must for health-conscious people. The food was also great, super tasty and I got to hear about their cooking process. Thank you so much for all your kindness George and I look forward to my next visit or possibly even some catering service! Mr Gamatos14:56 11/01/22Delicious food! You can tell that is made home-made style with natural spices and ingredients! Excellent service!

Gayle07:20 07/25/23Must try the breakfast tapsilog! They give generous portions of garlic fried rice and tapa (although it seems drier now than years before). Still flavourful and salty in my opinion, but their original from years ago was amazing. They have reasonable prices with a variety of authentic filipino foods from meat/vegetable dishes to baked goods/desserts. Friendly staff/good customer service. sandy lin14:30 05/17/23First time to try. Food is good. The lady is friendly. Miss Kathryn15:34 03/24/23Had the special LA Paz batchoy and the spouse had tapsilog. It tastes exactly like how it does at home. Ask for the extra garlic to take it from the boro to the karindirya at a bus depot somewhere in EDSA.Had no problem with the service. We went Friday morning and there are a few people coming and going or staying in to eat. We were speedily served our food. I don't have an issue with the lady as she got other things to do and I don't really crave that attention unlike some people in their reviews who only just complain about the server not being chummy with them.Ill definitely be back. Lawrence Tam22:10 12/16/22Wooowwwwww!!! Sooooo good!! Excellent place for Filipino food and deserts. Friendly staff. Wish downtown had good food like this and quantity is HUGGGEE!!!! For its price! Worth every penny! Thank you for a full stomach meal!! All about combo#4- large rice, 2 sides and pop for $12.99! Shirley Du17:07 11/22/22My absolute favorite place to get Filipino breakfast! They serve goto which is a type of lugaw (porridge/congee). Their tapsilog is also so delicious! The meat is shredded like brisket and is super flavorful. Price point is very fair and I would consider this cheap eats and a very good one in Scarborough
