Loved the waterfront view.Short tricycle ride to town for dining options.Able to check in, in the early morning we arrived off of the ferry at 3am. Pleasantly surprised they were able to pack us an early breakfast to go for our early departure.Room was spacious, but very humid. No humidifier to combat the excess moisture making drying clothes slower. Had a mini fridge which was a plus to have cold beverages on hand due to high humidity. AC had to be 'cranked up' to work.Balcony was nice with view of bay. Robes were a plus, but needed slippers as didn't want to walk barefooted on floor as humidity was high.Free breakfast was included in package. Breakfast options were good, dinner menu ok.Front door/Security was readily available to hail you a tricycle when needed. I rent a bike at the guesthouse and had an accident just in front of the guesthouse. "The brake was totally out of control" and my accelerated bike crashed with tricicle. I had severe damage on my whole body; especially getting my knee broken. I explained the staff the brake did not work at all but he insisted he checks bikes everyday so its all my fault. It is not my first time to ride a bike. I know how the brake works and how to handle it. It was not my fault. He blamed on me for the accident and said i have to pay "15,000 PHP" for the repairment and compensation for not being available for rent. It was almost same price for second hand neat bike. FRAUD. Each bed has its own curtain and fan and the owner puts the AC a few times a day to cool down the room. The offer bread and coffee in the morning and have fresh eggs for 8p each. The girl managing was really nice and went out of her way to make us confortable, good value and would stay here again.

The guy that runs the place, Axen, was nice and accommodating. He can recommend which tour agency to use (Calamian). Haven is centrally located, next to good restaurants. The rooftop has a nice view. The rooms AC was strong. Rooms were clean, plain and simple. Shower water pressure was weak. We were able to use the kitchen upstairs.We were there to shipwreck dive, and dove with Corto Divers, and had a blast! If you don’t have a GoPro, ask Axen and he may let you use his. He offered after the fact so we missed out unfortunately. But the shipwrecks are amazing so you’ll want something to remember it by. When you finish breakfast be sure to go out on to the roof area, there are amazing views. The hotel offer a really cheap and good laundry service too. The staff is awesome and very attentive. The chef, Andrew, is great. Ann at the front desk is very sweet and helpful. "Daze" keeps your room spotlessly clean. Breakfast is delicious. It is located one block off the main strip so it is more quiet. There is a roof-top balcony to watch the sunset. 1 block down at the main street is "Big Mamma's" restaurant and is the best we found. All the dishes are super yummy. Overall, Haven 1916 is a perfect place for the adult crowd looking to enjoy and peaceful, quiet stay.

The restaurant itself is a little bit pricey for the portion of food what you get. Average taste. But there are enough restaurants in the heart of busuanga to choose. In my 13 years of visiting the Philippines, this has never happened to me, and I hope it will not discourage others from visiting this stunning country! Sorry for the lengthy story, but I also want to ensure the owner of the hotel is aware of the situation!I stayed at Asia Grand View hotel from June 6-9, 2023 with my 5-year-old son. Since it is low season, we were one of two rooms occupied at the hotel at this time. The first day, we had a chance to interact with the staff quite a bit, as we didn’t go on tour. The staff seemed warm and welcoming, going out of their way to interact with my son.After touring all day on our second day, we returned to the hotel tired and hungry. Since I was alone with my son, I decided to order room service and go to bed early. Room service arrived and was served by two staff members. The staff had forgotten to bring the drinks, so I asked them to please return with drinks and the bill. Since it’s quite a walk down from the restaurant to the rooms, I paid the bill and told the staff member that I would collect the change in the morning, so as not to inconvenience him.The following morning, I settled my outstanding bill for tours we had booked and asked to have the change (740 pesos) from the night prior to be deducted from my bill. The staff at the reception desk was unaware of the situation, so she went to the dining area and asked the male staff member from the night prior to clarify. He did and the amount of 700 pesos was deducted from my bill. I left him 40 pesos tip.We then went out to do a tour. Upon returning to the hotel after our tour that day, I was told that I owed the hotel money as my change from the night prior had been given to me and I had tipped the male staff member 100 pesos. Of course, I knew this was untrue and asked to have the CCTV reviewed.Long story short, the CCTV does not cover the whole premises of the hotel. What it did show was the male staff member going toward my room (which isn’t at all covered by CCTV) with the change, and the returning to the lobby area with his 100 pesos tip.After discussing this with the operations manager, the staff member was suspended for two days (the remainder of our stay). I have to say, those two days were very uncomfortable for me as I didn't know if our things were safe in the room or if other staff had been involved in the incident.I was given an apology by the manager, but nothing else has been done. Upon leaving the hotel, all I asked was that I be kept informed about what the outcome of this situation is. I have emailed the hotel twice and have been completely ignored, leading me to believe either others were involved in the situation and/or that the owner has no awareness of the situation.I would like to warn others that this employee may still be working at the hotel and to please be mindful of your belongings! The rooms are large and the view from the restaurant is so romantic. It’s really nice to be a short distance from town- it gets so hectic once you’re there. The owner is also frequently present throughout the day, and she truly cares for the well-being of her staff and guests. Every single person was pleasant to interact with and helpful.The restaurant serves amazing food, and has a nice variety of options on the menu. It is situated high on a hillside with breathtaking views from the dining area.The bungalows are well-designed, and provide nice comfort with large bathrooms and high ceilings. They also have their own patios to comfortably lounge on in chairs.From the moment you arrive till the time you leave, you are surrounded by their beautiful landscape and a diversity of plant life that just feels so refreshing. We can't wait to visit again!

I think this is my family's favorite part. While the adults are getting happy with the drinks, the kids snorkel and see turtles say hi to us while they enjoy their sisig and pizza. Everyone is ready to help and are always smiling at you. Food is delish.. we probably tried everything on the menu on those 5 days with them.I work remotely, and their internet was awesome. It could also be the fact that we went there in July and there was no one there. There was one day we had the whole place to ourselves and didn't see any other guests. The room we booked was the Native Cabana, so naturally, it didn't look impressive. But the view outside of it was breathtaking. In the mornings when it was high tide, the water was right in our steps. A note though, the water by the beach wasn't that great especially when low tide. Lots of sea urchins and sometimes looked murky. Also there were box jelly fishes in shallow waters so best to go swimming from the port where the water is deeper. Breakfast was great the first day, it was a buffet. But then they turned it to a la carte on days where there's 25 guest or below. I understand though, need to limit food waste. But overall, we just enjoyed the pool and the beach, went kayaking and snorkelling. Had drinks by the port bar, played some pool, and just went completely lazy. The walls between room are very thin and makes it seems as if you are literally with the other person in the same room—-but I guess most people know this anyway from previous reviews/why prices are so affordable here.However, as much I wanted to love this place as the owners are quite lovely—there is definitely a bedbug problem. I woke up in the middle of the night itching, and upon checking my bedding, found two near my pillow. I have an allergy to them so got huge red welts, and a severe reaction to them. We woke up the owner and she seemed upset for me (which is nice I guess) but also aware of the issue. We moved into another room for the night but I had trouble sleeping in fear that there were ones there as well.We stayed another night in the same room we moved to which I don’t think had an issue with bedbugs but I guess it’s so hard to say... (it was difficult to find accommodation on such short notice). But it seems like the owners simply “deep cleaned” the room and put another arriving guest in there the day after we moved....which I don’t think will help in resolving the issue.All in all, it could have been a great accommodation if it weren’t for the bedbugs. I guess these things in Asia aren’t viewed as being such a thing as we do in the western world? Perhaps like simply mosquito bites or something? You can safely leave your luggage if your room isn’t available yet. We got the family room and it was actually very comfortable and spacious. I love that the toilet, shower room, face wash area are all separated so it was very convenient. The staff were very accommodating. AC was perfect with the fan running. Good breakfast as well. The only complaint I have was the shower drain was clogged so we always had about an inch of pooled water as we finished showering haha. I would definitely come back and I highly recommend it for its price and value!
